das Zebra!

das Zebra stürmt in weiten
                    Fluren,
durch grüne Gräser ziemlich
                    weit.
und wünscht sich nur vor
              schönen Türen
zu fressen Felder ziemlich breit.
Ein Zebra will dies alles nicht.
Es will nur leben in der Flur
Es kann sich leisten net den Tod
und will sich kehren in der Not.

Babelfish translation (verbatim):

the Zebra!

the Zebra storms in far
Corridors,
by green grasses quite
far.
and requires itself only forwards
beautiful doors
to eat fields rather broadly.
A Zebra does not want all of this.
It wants to only live in the corridor
it can itself carries out net death
and wants to turn in the NOT.

Believe me, I have been very tempted to include at least a couple of unedited Babelfish versions.

Depending on how loosely I allow myself to go with these (homophonic? Google translation? exact word-4-word? via voice-recongnition software? spell check changes?), I may well include something Babelfished.

Actually, your comments on your blog about this project kind of tempt me to be a bit looser ...
